PlanGraphics awarded $1.75 million New York State Cyber Security Project

FRANKFORT, Ky., Jan. 11, 2005—The New York State Office of Cyber Security & Critical Infrastructure Coordination (CSCIC) has engaged PlanGraphics, Inc. (PK: PGRA) to develop components of an Internet-based system to enable public safety personnel and state officials to search for, locate and visualize information about critical assets and infrastructure. The $1.75 million project is to be conducted over approximately nine months.

CSCIC is responsible for leading and coordinating New York State’s efforts regarding cyber readiness and resilience and geographic information technologies. In addition, CSCIC coordinates the collection and maintenance of state critical infrastructure data and is the single point of contact regarding GIS in State-declared emergencies.

CSCIC has designed and constructed a spatial data warehouse (SDW) and data catalog for infrastructure data. In this project, PlanGraphics will develop the following:

A secure, web-based load and update module for loading and updating critical infrastructure data sets
A secure, web-based inquiry module including a) a search engine for intelligent searching and browsing the SDW and data catalog, and b) an interactive geographic information system (GIS) application for querying and searching the SDW.
