IntelData, Inc. and PlanGraphics, Inc. Develop and Implement New Graphical Search Application and Voyager System Interface for NIMA Research Division Reston, Va., July 29, 2002IntelData, Inc. and PlanGraphics, Inc. (OTC BB: PGRA) of Frankfort, Ky., have collaborated to develop and implement the Voyager Integrated Library System (ILS) Graphical GeoSearch Application for The National Imagery and Mapping Agency's (NIMA) Research Division. The NIMA Research Division operates the NIMA Libraries and provides imagery, imagery intelligence and geospatial information in support of national security objectives. The NIMA Library has facilities in Bethesda, Md., Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and St. Louis, Mo. The Graphical GeoSearch (GGS) application provides a web-based geo-graphical search method for enhanced access to the Voyager ILS (a Commercial Off-the-Shelf program developed by Endeavor Systems, Inc.) for various mapping, charting, geodetics and intelligence-related products. This application will enhance access to NIMA's various geospatial products. The Graphical GeoSearch (GGS) application incorporates features that give members of the intelligence community the ability to more rapidly and accurately search for information about geospatial products. The searches can be based on a geographic area of interest, descriptive data about the map products or values of various non-spatial attributes such as geopolitical codes or stock numbers. The application allows the user to customize, sort, save and print the result sets. A second release of the application for all of NIMA with added functionality is expected in early August of this year. "We have been very impressed with the flexibility and speed of development," said Susan Kuwana, vice president of IntelData. "The architecture and functionality of the application is designed for simple access by any authorized user, not just GIS specialists," said John Antenucci, CEO of PlanGraphics. The Graphical GeoSearch tool is an Oracle Spatial application designed for scalability. The product also uses the embedded Xmarc spatial toolset for visualization.
