PlanGraphics, Inc., to Develop Emergency Preparedness GIS Plan for the District of Columbia's Emergency Management Agency

Frankfort, Ky., August 14, 2002—PlanGraphics, Inc. (OTCBB: PGRA), has been awarded a contract with the District of Columbia's Emergency Management Agency to develop a plan which will ensure that the appropriate geographic information system (GIS) resources are available to all agencies and staff involved in emergency responses. The project will be coordinated through the District of Columbia's Office of the Chief Technology Officer.

"The Washington D.C. assignment is a significant confirmation of the value of PlanGraphics' experience in planning, responding, and recovery from natural and man-induced emergencies," said John C. Antenucci, President of PlanGraphics.

Following an initial research phase, PlanGraphics will recommend a GIS configuration for the Emergency Operations Center, an Emergency Preparedness GIS Action Plan, and broadly based GIS management practices. A key component of the design is the definition of Web site content that meets cross-departmental needs. The final phase entails the creation of a GIS database concept, systems integration recommendations, and the development of an Emergency GIS Implementation Plan. The project will draw on the extensive experience PlanGraphics gained supporting New York City preceding and following the September 11th attacks. The District's project will be completed in 15 weeks.
