State of New Jersey awards GIS services term contract to PlanGraphics

FRANKFORT, Ky., Dec. 15, 2003—The State of New Jersey has awarded a new geographic information system (GIS) services term contract to PlanGraphics, Inc. (OTC BB: PGRA). The contract allows PlanGraphics to perform specific GIS services for any State agency, county or municipality in New Jersey. PlanGraphics was selected for two areas of service: GIS planning services and GIS enterprise services. Good for two years initially, the contract includes an option for two additional one-year extensions. PlanGraphics is one of only two vendors in each category.

The new term contract replaces a previous two-year GIS term contract between PlanGraphics and the State, which has just expired.

Some of the services included in the GIS enterprise services category are:

  • Developing custom applications using ArcIMS in Three-Tier Microsoft COM+ and J2EE environments
  • Developing GIS Web services using ArcIMS in Three-Tier Microsoft COM+ and J2EE environments
  • Building and maintaining an enterprise infrastructure for the provision of GIS Web services
  • Modeling geodatabases and documenting work in UML (Unified Modeling Language) format
  • Storing and exporting geospatial data, including raster, within ArcSDE and Oracle
  • Customizing ArcSDE using the ArcSDE Java API with Oracle Jserver
  • Implementing ArcSDE in a multi-user, multi-agency, intergovernmental enterprise environment
  • Working with ArcGIS data models (including land parcel and transportation data models).

The GIS planning services category includes:

  • Activities relating to GIS strategic plan development
  • Needs assessments
  • Requirements analysis
  • Cost/benefit analysis
  • Implementation planning
  • Other advisory consulting services.
