PlanGraphics to assist Allen County, Ind., with GIS data market analysis and business development FRANKFORT, Ky., August 20, 2003PlanGraphics, Inc. (OTC BB PGRA), has begun work on an important GIS (geographic information system) market analysis and business development project for Allen County, Ind. The project is to evaluate the needs of a broad range of map and geographic information users in Allen County and to evaluate approaches and opportunities for providing a range of GIS products and services to this user community. Allen County, with a population of approximately 340,000, is located in northeast Indiana. The County is completing a major upgrade of its iMAP GIS program, led by Alex Wernher, who is Deputy Director of the County's Planning Services Department and the County's GIS administrator. With oversight from Linda Bloom, Allen County Commissioner, and the County's iMAP Management Board, the County is close to completing development of a countywide, high-quality GIS database that includes high-resolution color orthoimagery, parcels/surveyed lots, detailed topographic contours, an accurate centerline with address ranges, and a comprehensive set of point features with addresses assigned and other important data layers. To support wide use of this data and for ongoing maintenance and enhancement, this project will include the development of a business strategy, identification of key products and services, options for cost sharing, and possible fees for certain data, custom products, or GIS services. "PlanGraphics is excited about the opportunity to assist Allen County in this very important endeavor within the County's GIS," stated Andrew Faley, account executive. "Allen County has had the need and desire for a formal program to develop and distribute data for some time. This plan will help set that tone and will allow all vested parties to be aware of what to expect." Results of the project are intended to be presented for adoption by the County Commissioners. "With PlanGraphics' knowledge and experience in assisting other organizations in similar cases, we are quite confident that PlanGraphics' role in this project will yield the proper results for the County," stated Alex Wernher. PlanGraphics, founded in 1979, is a full life-cycle systems integration and implementation firm providing a broad range of services in the design and implementation of information technology in the public and commercial sectors.
