PlanGraphics Awarded Homeland Security Interoperability Grant

FRANKFORT, Ky., November 15, 2004—PlanGraphics, Inc. (Pink Sheets: PGRA) has been awarded a grant to develop an Internet-enabled emergency response system for the Kentucky Chemical Stockpile Preparedness Program (CSEPP) by the Kentucky Science & Engineering Foundation and the Public Safety and Security Institute for Technology at Eastern Kentucky University's Justice and Safety Center.

PlanGraphics' Spatial Templates for Emergency Preparedness (STEPs) methodology and software tools will be used to produce a prototype interoperable Internet portal for CSEPP over a 10-month period. Development of the emergency preparedness and response interoperability solution is considered to be a foundational activity that will give Kentucky CSEPP and its federal and U.S. Army agency and local government partners immediate access to a large range of mission-critical data and multiple applications needed to improve planning and enhance incident response by all CSEPP partners.

The prototype project will demonstrate both the procedures for designing an interoperability solution and the efficacy of the STEPs enterprise portal architecture and software. It will produce an affordable software product that can be deployed at a full-scale level following prototype completion to make accurate information immediately accessible and to better inform decision-making by presenting the information in a format that is easy to understand and use.
