PlanGraphics lands $1.57 million project in China FRANKFORT, Ky., November 4, 2004PlanGraphics, Inc. (Pink Sheets: PGRA) has been awarded a contract to develop urban road pavement, bridge and drainage facility management systems for Guangzhou City, China. The $1.57 million project, to be conducted over 22 months, is being financed by the World Bank. Guangzhou is the capital city of Guangdong Province and is suffering severe traffic problems driven by recent economic growth. Current road maintenance in Guangzhou is not keeping up with the increased strain on its infrastructure. The goal of PlanGraphics project is to develop computerized pavement, bridge and drainage facility management systems (PBDFMS) that will be used to improve current road maintenance management. The PBDFMS will include an integrated information management system and three individual systems for managing pavement, bridge and drainage facilities, respectively. The explosive economic growth in China makes rapid deployment of new technologies very important to mitigate the effects on infrastructure and the environment, said Minna Li, PlanGraphics vice president for international projects. With our previous and current work already under way in China, we are pleased to be able to undertake this project in Guangzhou City, as well. As China continues to invest in infrastructure development, this project will serve as an exemplary model for asset management systems.
