PlanGraphics to design soils data Internet application for New Jersey Department of Transportation

FRANKFORT, Ky., December 28, 2004—PlanGraphics, Inc. (Pink Sheets: PGRA) has been awarded a contract to design and develop an Internet application to allow the public to search and view soils data maintained by the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT). The contract is a collaborative effort between PlanGraphics, Applied GIS, Inc. and Civil Solutions.

Data available for query and display will include scanned boring logs, scanned location plans, and a variety of associated attribute data. The application will be developed as an Internet application in ASP.NET using ESRI's ArcIMS interactive mapping environment. In addition to developing the Internet application, PlanGraphics will have the lead role in the design and development of an enterprise-wide ArcSDE/Oracle database containing indexing information from the boring logs and location plans that are being scanned and collected. PlanGraphics will develop a comprehensive database design that meets the needs of data collection, maintenance and access.

Specific tasks that PlanGraphics will perform include:

  • Project initiation

  • Deployment.
