PlanGraphics completes assignments for Charleston County, S.C.

FRANKFORT, Ky., August 17, 2004—PlanGraphics, Inc. (Pink Sheets: PGRA) has completed a series of assignments for Charleston County, S.C. They are the latest projects in a long-standing relationship between PlanGraphics and Charleston County over the last decade.

In one recent assignment, PlanGraphics analyzed addressing requirements throughout the County and then designed a comprehensive data model for a Master Address Database (MAD) that includes both individual addresses and centerline/address range (CLINE) data. PlanGraphics also defined workflows for update and maintenance of the MAD in a cooperative combination of the GIS and planning departments. In addition, PlanGraphics delineated functional specifications for an address maintenance application.

In another assignment, PlanGraphics prepared a plan for migration of Charleston County’s GIS technology from ESRI ArcInfo 7.x to ArcGIS 8.x. and Oracle SDE. The migration, currently under way, includes design of a geodatabase data model for the County’s GIS data, transformation of the GIS data to the new geodatabase, migration of the GIS applications to the ArcGIS version and logistical activities for successful conversion of operations to the new technology.

Finally, PlanGraphics has performed continuing QA support of the County’s latest acquisition of digital orthophoto and planimetric data.
