PlanGraphics to perform additional services for RIDOT

FRANKFORT, Ky., September 7, 2004—The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) has contracted with PlanGraphics, Inc. (Pink Sheets: PGRA) for additional services on RIDOT’s electronic document management system.

In addition to expanding the electronic scanning and indexing of RIDOT documents, this new project includes developing an ArcPAD field application that will be deployed jointly by the Rhode Island Historic Preservation and Heritage commissions on handheld Trimble GeoXT GPS computers. The field application will be used to assess highway construction sites and collect data required to comply with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966. The project will also upgrade the existing document management infrastructure and database deployed in 2001.

The new services total $395,075. PlanGraphics’ team also includes Public Archaeology Laboratory, Inc.; Plexus Corporation; Boston Computer Scanning; and TSA Advet.
