PlanGraphics completes CSEPP interoperability portal FRANKFORT, Ky., October 28, 2005PlanGraphics, Inc. (Pink Sheets: PGRA) has successfully completed development of a prototype Internet-enabled emergency response system for the Kentucky Chemical Stockpile Preparedness Program (CSEPP) and a 10-county region surrounding the Blue Grass Army Depot in Madison County, Ky. The interoperable prototype system, which provides a single common operating picture by allowing authorized users to easily access and use multiple data sets and applications needed for planning for and responding to a chemical weapons incident at the Depot, is being unveiled and demonstrated to officials from Kentucky CSEPP, the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management, the Kentucky Science & Engineering Foundation (KSEF) and Eastern Kentucky University on Friday in Frankfort. The prototype Internet portal was jointly developed by PlanGraphics and Kentucky CSEPP over the past year with financial assistance from KSEF, an initiative of the Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation under a contract with the Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE), and the Public Safety and Security Institute for Technology (PSI TEC) at Eastern Kentucky University's (EKU) Justice and Safety Center (JSC). The completed portal fully integrates interactive mapping, weather information and plume models, 3-D visualization and fly-throughs, traffic surveillance video, incident logging, alert notification, and response documentation that had previously only existed as separate computer applications that did not work together. As a next step, Kentucky CSEPP will attempt to secure full-scale implementation funding to actually deploy the solution in the 10 counties and Frankfort. PlanGraphics, founded in 1979, is a full life-cycle systems integration and implementation firm providing a broad range of services in the design and implementation of information technology in the public and commercial sectors.
