Mike Kevany of PlanGraphics is active in industry conferences in Europe

FRANKFORT, Ky., Feb. 24, 2005—Mike Kevany, senior vice president of PlanGraphics, Inc. (PK: PGRA) is active in two 2005 European conferences.

  • Kevany is serving as Chair of the International Board for the GIS Planet 2005 Conference, to be held May 28 to June 2, 2005 in Lisbon, Portugal. GIS Planet will be a forum for discussion of GIS from a global perspective. In this role he is arranging partnerships with GIS associations around the world, developing the GIS application portion of the program and coordinating activities with the Conference Chair, Michael Goodchild of UC Santa Barbara and the Portuguese organizing committee headed by Joao Geirinhas of ISEGI in Portugal.   • Kevany will also participate in the First International Symposium of GeoInformation for Disaster Management to be held at the Technical University of Delft in the Netherlands March 21-23 2005. The symposium will address the roles of geo-information in all aspects of disaster management, including the technologies involved, the user requirements and the information providers. As a part of his participation Mr. Kevany will present a paper on "Geo-Information for Disaster Management: 9/11 Lessons," based on experience during and following the World Trade Center response.
