PlanGraphics to develop urban construction management information system for Chongqing, China

FRANKFORT, Ky., Jan. 12, 2006—PlanGraphics, Inc. (Pk: PGRA), has been awarded a $685,000 contract to develop an urban construction management information system for the City of Chongqing, China, in a project funded by a World Bank loan. The project is part of a larger urban environment project to foster sustainable development by improving Chongqing’s urban infrastructure and sewage/waste disposal.

Located on the upper Yangtze River, Chongqing is China’s seventh-largest city by population. PlanGraphics will work directly for two agencies: the Chongqing Construction Commission, which is responsible for construction information management; and the Chongqing Solid Waste Corporation, which is responsible for facilities and operations relating to disposal of solid waste
For the Chongqing Construction Commission, PlanGraphics will lead the development of an information management system that will incorporate geographic information systems (GIS) and other information technologies to improve the quality of data available to decision-makers. It will provide a network platform and data exchange interface for urban construction management, data sharing, and institutional management and operations.

For the Chongqing Solid Waste Corporation, PlanGraphics will develop a solid-waste management sub-system that will use GIS technology to provide spatial analyses and decision-support functions for sanitation management.

PlanGraphics will be assisted on this project by its Chinese subcontractor, Sichuan JKC.
