Enterprise Information Technology Issues
Statewide Planning Event in Salem—December 4, 5, and 6
Salem, Oregon—The Enterprise Information Management Subcommittee of the Governor's IT Roundtable is seeking comment on a set of Strategic Issues that will influence the innovative use of technology across our state.
You are invited to take part in one or more focus groups that will meet in Salem on each of the following issues:
- IT Staffing: recruitment, training, retention, sourcing
- IT Procurement
- IT Funding
- Intra/Intergovernmental cooperation/collaboration (Enterprise Approach to IT)
- Business and IT Planning (Planning Horizons, Strategic Focus, Prioritization, Resourcing)
- Consolidation/Centralization vs. decentralization of IT
- Access/sharing/integration of data (applications)
- Confidentiality and Privacy of Information * Disaster Recovery/Business Continuation Planning
- Government's Ability to respond to rapid change in technology and increasing citizen expectations.
- E-Government (Use of Internet and Intranet Technologies)
- Standards/Best Practice adoption
- Enterprise IT Governance
- IT Security
The value of the sessions will be greatly enhanced if both technology AND business/program representatives are able to participate.
Information obtained in these focus groups will be used to craft a new State of Oregon Enterprise IT Strategic Plan. The focus groups will occur on three consecutive days in Salem and will be held:
- Dates/times: December 4 (9:00 AM to 4:30 PM), December 5 (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM), & December 6 (8:30 AM to 4:00 PM)
- Locations: Oregon Employment Auditorium, Veterans' Affairs Auditorium, Agriculture Building Hearing Room, State Lands Building
